William "Billy" Saxon is a Consultant for IT /
Application Development for Nationwide
Better Health's HealthCheck application (www.NBHHealthPromotion.com)
and (www.InterventAtHome.com)
Married to April, his wife of over 20 years, they have 2 sons, 2
daughter-in-laws and 3 grandkids.
Billy is the first son of Brenda and Bill Saxon of Marlow, Georgia.
Billy assisted in the corporate startup of INTERxVENT
USA, joining the team in September 1997 as an IT Consultant, database
programmer and network administrator. Billy served as the Director of IT (USA)
until the acquisition of INTERxVENT, now a Nationwide Better Health Company.
Along with Dr. Richard Salmon, Dr. Ivan Levinrad, and Kevin Reid, Billy
developed the original INTERxVENT Database Management System (IDMS), an
impressive suite of Microsoft Access database utilities that computerized the
health assessment and lifestyle modification analytical processes invented by
Dr. Neil Gordon. Billy pioneered the use of remote desktop applications and ISDN
technologies to network and interconnect the IDMS to INTERxVENT's Savannah
locations and corporate office over the internet, creating a consolidated
network operation center long before corporate adoption of internet technologies
was a standard.
Billy’s range of skills, which include in-depth knowledge of Microsoft
applications, database programming, graphic design, enterprise networking,
telecommunications, and application development made him a valuable INTERxVENT
team member - a tradition he is striving to continue with Nationwide Better
Health.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, after graduating from Windsor Forest High School
in 1983, Billy attended Armstrong Atlantic State University. A member of the
Dean's List and serving as Class President, Billy completed the AMA's role model
advanced program for Respiratory Therapists in July 1987, and degree
requirements for the Associates of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy in
December 1989. Nationally certified by the NBRC as a respiratory therapy
technician, Billy served as a cardio-pulmonary therapist at St. Joseph’s and
Candler Hospitals in Savannah, Georgia, provided acute neonatal/pediatric
respiratory care services for the Medical College of Georgia, adult respiratory
care at Shepherd Spinal Clinic, and age-appropriate care at many other smaller
hospitals and institutions as a highly sought after contract staff respiratory
therapist. Billy concluded his cardio-pulmonary career as a State of S.C. Board
of Medical Examiners certified respiratory care practitioner and Lead Therapist
at Hilton Head Medical Center in April 1997.
In 1990, following his father's entrepreneurial spirit, Billy co-created a
public access cable tv show called "30 Minute Cooking", which lead to him
serving as creative consultant for a pilot episode of "Savannah Cuisine."
Featuring the the cuisine of Savannah and the surrounding area, the shows
sparked local interest in the genre which are now producing personalities and
television shows which are internationally famous. "Savannah Cuisine" was not
picked up by any network or sponsor, and Billy turned his attention from the
food service business to the rising field of Personal Computing. A brief
resurrection in Billy's interest in food service led to a webmaster position for
"The World is My Kitchen", a television show which was later successfully aired
on many American Public Television system outlets.
An amateur programmer and computer enthusiast since high school, Billy began his
professional career in Information Systems with Microsoft Solutions Provider
Premier Computer Training in April 1994. He held positions as office manager,
field repair technician and training consultant-programmer.
Billy established his consulting firm, BigBilly.com in March 1995, and provided
computer sales and services to small business.
Billy partnered with Savannah's Comedy House Theatre
(now
http://www.comedyhouse.com) to develop a Marketing and club management
database program used by comedy clubs from West Orange, NJ to Ft. Lauderdale FL,
many of which are still using the program.
Billy's interest in photography and videography also provided another creative
outlet. Billy has provided those services for many events - from
weddings and bar
mitzvahs, to family re-unions and birthday parties, specializing in DVD menu
creation and motion video graphics.
Billy's expertise also allowed him to provide internet video consultation and
services for the Mystic Orchestra - Flashback - Classic Rock Experience website
(http://www.flashbacktour.com/)
MOST Importantly, Billy is also an ordained minister and serves as an Associate
Minister / Elder for Fort Argyle Full Gospel Church (www.fabible.org),
and is an itinerant preacher in Southeastern Georgia and South Carolina.
In 2003, with Brother Jesse Alldredge, Billy formed the
international, worldwide evangelical ministry of 2 Bubbas And The Bible (www.2BubbasAndTheBible.com)
If that's not enough, Billy is also a musician and audio technician - If he is
not playing bass guitar or drums in the band, he is setting up and running the
sound equipment.
Billy has produced and sponsored numerous audio and video collaborations, is a
published poet, song writer, documentary and theological author with multiple
ISBN notations. His latest work, a 3 day church revival series entitled "The
Life That Wins" is set for publication in January 2011.
