Uncle Billy Saxon

The brother of my grandfather on my Daddy's side - Killed in a tragic mishap at a young age - I think he was 19.

"There but the grace
of God goes I"

Uncle Calvin Saxon

First time I met my Uncle Calvin (least as far as I remember!), Aunt Callie was in the hospital at Candler - I think they called her Aunt Sis - I was a respiratory therapist at the time and I was taking care of her 'cause she was on life support. I remember Aunt Lamar used to sit in her room and I would speak to her, but I had no idea who that I was related to them . One day Carolyn Beebe was in the room also, and though she looked familiar, I couldn't place her. Well she saw my name tag, and said "Are you Bill and Brenda's son?" I said "Yes..." And she said (you gotta know Carolyn to appreciate this!) "Well Son of a Gun - Don't you know who this lady is (pointing to Aunt Sis) or her (pointing to Aunt Lamar)?" Kinda uncertain I said "No mam" - And she went about connecting the dots and I was AMAZED. She took me down to the waiting room and I saw Uncle Calvin and my heart almost stopped. It was my GRANDPA,  come back to life, fit and healthy!!!

I then got to meet all of these "long lost "relatives!!

Especially exciting to me was sharing my new found faith ( I was saved by God's Grace in August 1997 - So its' never too late!) in Christ Jesus with Uncle Calvin and Aunt Lamar - what wonderful children of God they are!

ARRIVAL:  11:00 A.M.

COVERED DISH LUNCHEON:  1:00 P.M.

AT

UNCLE SHED’S FISHING CAMP

318 UNCLE SHED’S ROAD (OFF HWY 204)

SAVANNAH, GA  31219

Dear Saxon Family Members:

It’s time again to gather your family members together and join all of the “Saxon Families” for our THIRD annual “Saxon Celebration”.  Please pass the invitation on to all of your family members in case we don’t have them on the mailing list.  We don’t want to leave anyone out.  The Reunion is a yearly event and will always be held on the second Saturday in October.

We will be having our famous covered dish dinner and everyone is asked to bring lunch for their family.  We will furnish plates, cups, eating utensils, drinks and ice.  If possible, bring any chairs you might have on hand.  We have lots of chairs, but we had more people than chairs last year.

Dress casually as we will be meeting out of doors.  Be sure to bring your family stories, photos, family history, etc.

Please give one of us a call (Tony Saxon  912-748-4339, Linda Saxon Lowe 912 728-3579, Brenda Saxon 912 772-3184) and let us know if you will be attending.  If you aren’t able to come this time please try and send us addresses/phone numbers/e-mail addresses of your family (to the address listed above) so we can get everyone on the mailing list.

DIRECTIONS: Go West on HYW 204 at I-95.  Go past the Belair Campground & Fort Argyle Church on the left and when you reach the 4 mile marker (the mile markers go in descending order from I-95) go .3 (3/10) mile, turn left on Uncle Shed’s Road at the white mailbox with SAXON on the side.  The dirt road is 1.3 miles long and ends at the river.  When you get there you will be at the reunion.

See you all there,

Tony, Linda, Brenda
